Building Community
Since its inception, CETLALIC has been known for forming a COMMUNITY of people, ideas, and thoughts, where universal values of solidarity, friendship, tolerance, and inclusion are restored, as well as political awareness about the progressive movement.
CETLALIC was founded in 1987 from the Mexican solidarity movement with El Salvador, specifically, and all Latin American countries in general. From its inception, we have sought to teach Spanish to foreigners and be a bridge between them and Latin Americans who participate in social movements. Through education about language, culture and the reality, we hope to develop closer ties between peoples in order to remove prejudices between them.
In this space, we want to recognize the important and continual work that various organizations do in Mexico. Listed here are organizations with which we have contact, relationships, as well as joint work, in one form or another. We also include those who we would like to recognize for the support they give to the movement for social and economic justice. Without their support, collaboration and contributions, it would be difficult for CETLALIC to raise awareness about the reality.
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE AND MAY YOUR GOOD WORK CONTINUE.

CETLALIC alumni are an important part of the CETLALIC community. Former students have experienced first-hand CETLALIC´s quality
education and attention to cultural and progressive issues. We invite alumni to be part of our Alumni Outreach Network which helps connect
CETLALIC with others who are interested in studying Spanish and social justice issues in Mexico.
CETLALIC alumni help in several ways, by:
- Bringing a group from their university, church, or organization to study at CETLALIC. Groups can participate in special programs already planned, ongoing regular programs, or design a program with CETLALIC to meet their particular interests.
- Connecting CETLALIC with social justice or other Spanish language organizations, media outlets, and websites who are interested in
publicizing CETLALIC´s programs.
- Passing along or posting CETLALIC brochures to interested organizations and individuals.
If you would like to participate in the Alumni Outreach Network, please ontact CETLALIC Director Jorge Torres at
infor@cetlalic.org.mx.
