Paolo Freire

"Brazilian educator Paulo Freire (1921 - 1997) developed a popular education methodology for teaching literacy to the poor (farmers and manual laborers) in Brazil. His method focused on the fight against the oppressive classes and the ideological liberation of the oppressed as well as creating awareness and the value to the community of those who are marginalized."

Online Spanish Classes

CETLALIC now offers Spanish classes at all levels through Skype and MSN Messenger!

10% discount for former CETLALIC students!

Here’s how it works:

We send you an entrance exam for you to take without a dictionary or other help. This way, when you return it, we will be able to evaluate your current level and plan accordingly for your specialized private lessons.
Together, we email to set up mutually convenient days and hours to communicate via the web, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. central time.

We spend an hour each week (recommended) conversing, working on grammar, phonetic pronunciation, comprehension, and fluency through different exercises. Materials in PDF and Word will be emailed to you, both for homework and study purposes. If anything is unclear, we utilize the chat functions on Skype and MSN Messenger to send you words or phrases for visual, text support during the class.

You do not need a web camera to participate! We can hear each other and communicate even if you do not own or do not want to purchase a web camera. Sign up today!

You pay $20 an hour for classes, starting with a minimum payment of 5 hours. You can pay through Paypal, or send a check or money order as described below.

Make checks or money orders out to "Amigos de CETLALIC."
We recommend you send this by certified or registered mail and keep your receipt. CETLALIC will not be responsible for a deposit sent by regular mail which does not reach us.
