Costs
for all Social Justice Programs include:
- Intensive
Spanish instruction, five hours per day, five days per
week, with educational materials
- Local excursions in the
Cuernavaca area, and program-related travel (in-country, unless otherwise specified)
- Full room (private or shared) and board with a Mexican family, including 3 meals per day..
Cost
does not include round trip air fare to Mexico City.
A one-time only registration fee of US
$100, at the time of application, refundable only in the unlikely event that CETLALIC cancels the program.
Students who begin their program and need to leave before their program ends will be refunded 50% of the cost of the remaining classes.
Applications are due one month before program start date.
CETLALIC
offers the needed information to all new students on the
norms and expectations in Mexican culture, which helps
them explore their own cultural preconceptions and the
consequent adjustments necessary for living in a different
culture. Every Monday we have the Tips Culturales
session after classes.
Coming
to Cuernavaca in the shuttle bus is very easy, buses run
frequently and cost is very reasonable; we strongly recommend
it. Ask for "Autobuses para Cuernavaca" (located
one level above international arrivals, behind the fast-food
area) or if a porter is helping you with your bags he
can escort you. First you buy a ticket for "Cuernavaca-Selva"
at the Pullman de Morelos counter, and then you descend a level to board the buses. Cost is $125 pesos (approximately $12 US), and
the trip takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Buses run
from 6:30 a.m. until 11 pm.
We
offer a service to students who wish to be picked up at
the airport. Cost is US $90.00. There are extra charges
from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. If you are interested please
ask for details.
Please
note: CETLALIC is open year-round and students may begin classes any Monday,
with the exception of national holidays (January 1, February
5*, March 21*, May 1, September 16, November 20*,
December 25).
* These holidays
are observed on the following Monday
