CETLALIC is accredited by the Ministry of Public Education,
State of Morelos, Mexico. Students from many countries and universities
have received academic credit from their universities for their
work done at CETLALIC, as have many teachers from their school districts.
Documentation describing methods, texts, schedule, and teaching
staff can be sent to your university or school district at your
request.
You can also explore obtaining college credit via
a number of university's study abroad programs.
Several select universities are affiliated with CETLALIC
for their study abroad courses.

Indigenous Traditions and Cultures in Mexico with Lesley University

Learn about indigenous and post-colonial culture in the mountain village of Tepoztlan, Mexico and surroundings, including history, political and economic issues, architecture, art, literature, and mythology.

(CHLS 490:
COMPARATIVE LATINO EDUCATION in the U.S. and MEXICO)
This experimental course is for students, faculty
and staff and will meet the requirements for the CHLS-340
"Latino Education in the US" course, and expose
the student to the educational system and pedagogy in Mexico
for 3 weeks and Cuba for one week (optional). The primary
goal of the course will be to compare and connect theory and
practice, and for the student to develop a critical understanding
of how history, culture, politics, and economics are factored
into education.
The course features:
- 45 hours intensive instruction of Spanish
and Mexican culture (M-F 9am-12pm), daily afternoon lectures,
cultural and archeological excursions, visit universities
and schools
- Cost includes evening and weekend excursions,
homestay lodging and social activities
Cost: TBA. Includes:
Airfare, room & board, local transportation, insurance,
CETLALIC fees and CSULB tuition. (Some scholarships available!)

Vazquez-Ramos, CSULB Students Return From
U.S.-Mexico Exchange
California State University, Long Beach Professor Armando
Vazquez-Ramos led 13 CSULB students to Mexico and Venezuela
in July to attend the Tlahuica Center for Language and Cultural
Exchange (CETLALIC) and the 16th World Festival of Youth and
Student in Caracas, Venezuela.
"The trip was phenomenal. The excursions
and activities we had in two weeks of travel and study in
Mexico was replete with new findings and experiences that
were very enriching to both students and myself," said
